SpectrumGro is a Colorado-based company that distributes the Pathogen Death Wand—a rod that can kill all the pathogens on your weed plants.
The Pathogen Death Wand is an innovative LED technology that provides a unique combination of light wavelengths designed for eliminating bacteria and pests on marijuana plants.
The Wand is about 1.5 inches thick and 48 inches long. This rod is installed two feet away from your garden, and when the light is turned on, it begins to damage all the existing pathogens in the soil and the crop. Thanks to the special spectrum of light, the Wand kills bacteria, mold, powdery mildew, and fungi.
This technology allows cannabis growers to cultivate healthy weed plants without any pesticides.
According to James Merrick, CEO of SpectrumGro, cannabis plants are naturally infected with bacteria and pathogens, but when weed growers smoke their yield, they might also consume spores of mold or powdery mildew. However, if growers use the Wand along with grow lights, their plants will be protected from all kinds of pathogens.
Though this technology may sound unrealistic, a similar method is used to keep vegetables and fruit fresh at grocery stores.
Unlike most pesticide products used for killing pathogens on marijuana, this technology is organic, free of any side effects, and does not require additional workforce. Cannabis growers do not need to hire employees to care for plants anymore.
If you want to protect your pot plants from bacteria and mold, it is better to start with the soil. Just put the pots with soil mixtures under the light of the Wand, and they will be disinfected. All pathogens in the soil will be eliminated at the beginning of the growing process.
The technology has already been tested on grapes, as the light works on any plants. The samples were purposely filled with powdery mildew before testing. After four days of treatment under the light, the Wand killed 57 percent of mildew.
The company is displaying their product at the Seed to Sale Show on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, so all Colorado growers will have an opportunity to try out the innovative LED technology.
